Nativity scene 4.0

The idea for the digital nativity scene was born out of childhood memories. "As a little boy, I used to go to see the nativity scene every Christmas with my parents. I have fond memories of it, but I thought it was terribly static, carved figures standing on straw, without movement, and I wasn't allowed to speak or ask questions." Says Petr Vlček, the owner of Home of AV.

Memories, a new CNC machine and our experience in the digital world inspired us to come up with a nativity scene that would be more interesting, more fun for the kids and maybe even more imaginative. In our workshop, we have created a nativity scene 4.0. that moves, bursts with color, sounds beautifully and it was positioned so that it is joyful not only for us, but also for all of you.

From the preparation of the exhibition of Famous Composers at the National Museum we had 50 wooden prisms left that we cleaned from the screws, and our new CNC machine milled them into a relief crib in two weeks under the guidance of Filip Kotouček. The classical part of the relief, meaning the composition and figures, was created under the hands of Pavel Příkaský, a painter, and Ondřej Rakušan, an animator, who brought it to life with 3D mapping.

The Nativity scene was blessed by P. Konstantin Petr Mikolajek OPraem in the presence of the former mayor of Říčany Mgr. Vladimír Kořen. Thank you!

Reconstruction:

In 2019, we have modified the entrance to the permises, the left bank of the creek was completely cleaned and paved. This created a suitable space for the placement of the crib, which is now easily accessible to the public. We wanted to make ourselves and others happy.

Recycling:

Wood scraps left over from creating other exhibits were used.

Self-help:

Relief and 3D mapping authors: Pavel Příkaský & Ondřej Rakušan; idea came from Dita and Petr Vlček; production and installation of the crib by Home of AV team.
